Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Matteca, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.

2. Description of Service

Matteca is a personal life-tracking application that allows you to log daily habits, health metrics, work productivity, finances, and other personal data. The service includes analytics dashboards, streak tracking, and optional third-party work tool integrations.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must not share your account with others.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use Matteca.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service's infrastructure
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit the service

5. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you enter into Matteca. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your data solely to provide the service to you.

You can delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time, from Settings in the web app or the Profile tab in the iOS app; a data export can be requested from support. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

If you send us a feature request, suggestion, or other feedback, it is not confidential. You give us the right to use it freely to improve Matteca, with no obligation to build it, credit you, or pay you for it.

6. Third-Party Integrations

Matteca allows you to connect third-party services (Jira, Asana, Notion, and Google). These integrations are governed by the respective third party's terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of third-party services. You authorize Matteca to access your data on these platforms as described in our Privacy Policy.

Separately, our landing page displays a Product Hunt launch badge, which is an image served by Product Hunt and a link to our Product Hunt listing. Loading it sends a request to Product Hunt each time the page opens, as described in our Privacy Policy. Product Hunt is not affiliated with us beyond that listing, the badge is not an endorsement by them of these terms, and we are not responsible for their site or for what happens once you follow the link.

7. AI Access

Matteca lets you connect your own AI account so it can read and change your data on your behalf. Using this feature is optional and entirely your choice.

You are responsible for what a connected AI does in your account. Anything it creates, edits or deletes is treated as your own action, exactly as if you had done it yourself. You decide which AI to connect and how much access to give it, and you can revoke that access at any time from Settings.

AI systems make mistakes. They can misunderstand an instruction, act on the wrong record, or be misled by content they read elsewhere. We provide a 30-day activity log and an undo option so you can review and reverse changes, but we do not guarantee that every change can be undone, and we are not liable for loss or alteration of your data resulting from actions taken by an AI you chose to connect. Check important changes yourself.

The AI provider you connect is a separate company under its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for their service, their availability, their pricing, or how they handle data once it reaches them. You must also comply with their terms when using them with Matteca.

You may not use this feature to gain access to another person's account or data, to circumvent limits on your plan, or to place automated load on the service beyond normal personal use. We apply rate limits and may suspend a connection that abuses the service.

AI Memory. If you switch it on, a connected AI can save notes about you and read them back later, including in future conversations and from other AI services you connect. The AI decides what is worth saving, so you should assume anything you discuss with it may be recorded. You can review, edit and delete those notes, and switch the feature off, at any time. You remain responsible for what you choose to share with an AI you connect.

8. Payments and Subscriptions

Matteca offers paid subscriptions. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. When you purchase a subscription your transaction is with Paddle, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to that purchase.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or yearly) until you cancel.
  • Where a free trial applies, you are not charged until the trial ends.
  • You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy and your statutory rights under Paddle's Buyer Terms.
  • Current prices are shown on our pricing page and may change with notice.

9. Service Availability

We strive to keep Matteca available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service downtime.

10. Limitation of Liability

Matteca is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
